Other People's Children Symposium

Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 9am - 1pm at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center at SDSU

A great opportunity for CFD students to learn about topics of critical race parenting and language justice as well as what it means to educate other people's children in 2019. This is a half-day symposium, with professional development opportunities, coffee, tea, CRT, and book raffles. Click here for the event flier.

Senate Excellence in Teaching Award - Dr. Audrey Hokoda

CFD's own Dr. Audrey Hokoda is this year's recipient of the Senate Excellence in Teaching Award. She will be presented with the award at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 24, at Templo Mayor (in the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union) from 2 to 4 p.m. 

Professor Hokoda's presentation is titled Embracing SDSU’s Commitment to Serving the Community: Addressing Trauma with Hearts and Minds. She will be joined by academic colleagues, community representatives, and students who have been partners in her work in youth violence prevention, specifically on bullying, teen dating violence and domestic violence.
