Bio

I have spent nearly 40 years as a dedicated, passionate and social justice educator for our youth. I have served in numerous roles within school districts, and educational non-profits; as Teacher, Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Executive Director of the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence; Superintendent of Instruction for the Honorable Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa with the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools. I also served as Area Superintendent in the San Diego Unified School District. I also served as Executive Director for New Leaders. Currently, I am serving as Director of Clinical Supervision in the School of Education.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from San Francisco State University, my master’s degree Educational Leadership from United States International University and my doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice, from Loyola Marymount University in 2011. I have focused many years focused on Leadership Development by developing and training aspiring leaders because I believe that leadership is a key lever in creating great schools in our underperforming schools. I love to cook, reading, mentoring, and spending time with my family and friends.
