Bio

Claudia Dunn, Ph.D., is a visiting professor in the Department of Special Education at San Diego State University. Her research focuses on addressing inequalities in special education by advocating for immigrant parents who have children with disabilities and underrepresented communities. She is interested in increasing culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) parent involvement in the Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and making their voices heard. She is strongly committed to preparing her students to implement culturally responsive interventions for children with disabilities to create inclusive classrooms.

Dr. Dunn is also interested in making cultural adaptations to existing evidence-based programs to support students with or at risk of emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) and create culturally responsive social-emotional and behavioral interventions for diverse students. Her goal is to ensure that every student receives an equitable education to develop their full potential and thrive.
