Janice Chan, MA, BCBA is a lecturer in the Department of Special Education. An alumnus of the SDSU Moderate/Severe Credential and Autism Master's programs, she began her career in special education as a classroom aide and later, classroom teacher in moderate/severe classrooms in North County San Diego. In addition to lecturing and supervising students, Ms. Chan currently works on several research teams. Her research interests focus on the development, dissemination, and sustainment of autism interventions for use in schools. Ms. Chan is currently the project coordinator and lead trainer of a study aimed at analyzing key components for Classroom Pivotal Response Teaching (CPRT) and comparing in-person and distance professional development opportunities for teachers. In the community, Janice serves as the Vice President of Banding Together, a San Diego-based music therapy nonprofit organization, and coordinates disability inclusion efforts at her church.
