Our Peer Advisors
Hey, My name is Brayan! I am a senior graduating in May 2021 with a major in Sociology and a minor in Counseling & Social Change. My hopes after graduation are to get accepted into the MFT graduate program here at SDSU and to continue being involved in the Counseling and School Psychology Department. I became a peer advisor because I wanted to help ease the stress of picking a minor and want to educate students on the benefits of the CSC minor like when going into a helping profession, learning about one’s own identity, and gaining a new perspective on social justice issues!
Fun Fact: I collect any form of comic collectibles which includes comics, pins, figures, and statues.
Hi there, my name is Chantel! I graduated from SDSU in December 2020 majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Counseling & Social Change. I currently work for a non-profit called WAHUPA Educational Services as a College Counselor to low-income and first-generation students in San Diego. I plan to obtain my M.A in Marriage & Family Therapy after I gain some experience working with my current population. I wanted to become a part of the CSC team because my life was significantly improved through my participation in the CSC minor. I want to help others experience the same exposure to social justice advocacy, personal development and foundational counseling skills through this wonderful program!
Fun fact: I have met Will Smith, Dave Franco, Jared Leto and Idris Elba all in the same week.

I am an aspiring student affairs professional and I am planning to enter a master’s program in higher education leadership.
Fun Fact: Malteses are my favorite dog breed :)
Hello! My name is Jun. I am a 4th year transfer student majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies (RWS, Sociology, and CSP).
I became a peer advisor to become more involved with the department here on campus, and gain more experience in the field. I’d love to see this program grow and help guide students along the way. I am open towards multiple career paths in this profession, so I am looking forward to the journey and self-discovery during the process.
Fun Fact: I enjoy taking pictures of food more so than taking photos of myself.

Graduate Peer Advisor
Hello! I am Guadalupe. I graduated from SDSU in May 2018 with a B.A. in Liberal Arts And Sciences with Emphasis in Three Departments: Counseling and Social Change, Psychology, and Sociology.
I became a peer advisor and now a mentor of the CSC Program because I love the Counseling and Social Change vision to guide the students to not only improve and learn about themselves but also helps them implement that knowledge in their daily life activities and become an agent of change. My career goal is to be a community college counselor and help students to reach their own personal goals.
Fun Fact: I love Arts and Crafts 😊
Hi, my name is Taylor! I graduated recently in December 2020 majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Counseling and Social Change and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. After graduation, I plan on getting my M.A. in Counselor Education to become a College Readiness Counselor for low-income high schools. I wanted to be a part of the CSC advising team because the minor has shaped my perspective on social justice issues, further learned more about identity, and to connect with more CSC students. I am eager to guide students through the minor!
Fun fact: my picture was taken when I studied abroad in Central Finland in May 2019.
