Clinical Practicum in Schools Serving Indigenous Youth

HARMONY scholars will work on two project partner sites in the Bonsall Unified School District, serving youth from the Pala Reservation. Their supervisors are themselves Native American and have developed good relationships with the youth and the tribal community. They are graduates of SDSU’s nationally recognized graduate programs as well.

Our two partner sites have previously partnered with the project, and enthusiastically support our work:

  • Bonsall High School
  • Vivian Banks Charter Elementary School

Fieldwork participants in circle discussion
This group of prior scholars, now practitioners, sat in circle regularly with our youth at the partner site All Tribes Charter School, where they exchanged stories, lessons, and ideas regularly to augment smaller group work.

Honoring of Youth, Campo Elementary

This group of former scholars, not practitioners, is participating in our end-of-year intergenerational celebration of the youth. Parents and community members attended.
