Preliminary Speech-Language Pathologist Credentials

A Commission-accredited program sponsor shall determine prior to recommending a candidate for a credential, that the candidate holds or has been recommended for a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Council on Academic Accreditation.

The Master of Arts (M.A.) in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences education program in speech-language pathology (residential) at San Diego State University is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700.

As part of the credential recommendation process, credential analysts review the clearance report which includes verification of completing the MA requirements and complete the checklist prior to recommending candidates for their credential.
