Mark Jeffers, Site Coordinator

The Visionary Educators Cohort emphasizes innovative and forward-thinking approaches to teaching and learning. Our focus is cultivating educators adept at current educational practices and pioneers in integrating emerging technologies, diverse pedagogical strategies, and inclusive methodologies. This cohort is dedicated to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and adaptability, preparing teachers to inspire and lead the next generation of learners in a rapidly evolving educational landscape. The Visionary Educators Cohort aims to shape educators capable of envisioning and implementing transformative changes in their classrooms and beyond.

Location of Courses:

Most courses will be taught at San Diego State University. One course each semester may meet at a location in the Grossmont Union High School District.

Locations of Student Teaching:

The Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD), with most remaining at the same school site for both semesters. However, music and physical education candidates may be placed at sites outside of GUHSD, including elementary and middle schools in other districts, depending on availability and program needs. Upon request, an attempt will be made to place student teachers at a middle school.
