Undergraduate Programs
- Leadership Studies: The Leadership Studies program at San Diego State University (SDSU) offers both a major and a minor. Both the Leadership Studies major and minor are designed to develop self-aware, culturally competent, and transformational leaders, and offer students the opportunity to participate in experiential learning opportunities, such as internships and service learning projects. These experiences give students the chance to practice their leadership skills in real-world settings.

- Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Affairs (PELSA), Master of Arts (M.A.): The M.A. in Postsecondary Educational Leadership and Student Affairs program is designed for student affairs practitioners—those who want to commit to supporting students through their college experiences from compassionate, culturally competent, and holistic perspectives. The program emphasizes integration of curricular and co-curricular learning, responsible practice of leadership in a justice-centered and global environment, and student learning centeredness.
- Rehabilitation Counseling (RCP), Master of Science (M.S.): The M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling Program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to empower individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals and fostering greater independence.
Doctoral Degree Program
- Community College Leadership (CCLEAD), Doctor of Education (Ed.D.): The Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Community College Leadership (CCLEAD) is a nationally recognized program cultivating innovative leaders in postsecondary education. We are a collaborative learning community led by esteemed faculty and practitioners dedicated to addressing challenges in higher education.
Certificate Programs
- Advanced Certificate in Cognitive Disabilities: The Certificate in Cognitive Disabilities is designed for current and aspiring rehabilitation counselors who are, or intend to become, providers of vocational and independent living services on behalf of persons with cognitive disabilities, including those with autistic spectrum disorders, intellectual disability, acquired brain injuries, and learning disabilities.
- Advanced Certificate in Co-occurring Disorders: The purpose of the Advanced Certificate in Co-occurring Disorders is to educate counseling students and practicing counselors to provide effective, evidence-based services to individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
- Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership in Intercollegiate Athletics: The Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership in Intercollegiate Athletics prepares students to become effective leaders in college and university athletics programs.
- Advanced Certificate in Psychiatric Rehabilitation: The purpose of this certificate is to educate rehabilitation counselors to provide effective psychiatric rehabilitation interventions that will result in greater workforce participation and integration of individuals who experience psychiatric disabilities.
- Advanced Certificate in Rehabilitation Technology: The purpose of this certificate is to train interested engineers and non-engineers in the field of rehabilitation technology using formal classroom instruction, project design and fabrication, and internship.
