Bio
Alyssa Pettingill is the founder of EmpoweringKidz, a Child Life private practice based in San Diego, where she has been supporting children and families through in-home and telehealth services since 2022. With over a decade of experience as a Certified Child Life Specialist, Alyssa has worked within renowned institutions such as NYU Langone Health and Stanford Children’s Hospital, gaining extensive knowledge of the patient experience and expertise in family advocacy. A passionate advocate for pediatric mental health, Alyssa is dedicated to raising awareness about Child Life Services and making them more accessible to families. She engages her community through in-service trainings and parent workshops. She is also affiliated with VITAS Hospice and the San Diego Regional Center’s Self-Determination Program, further extending her impact in the field. Alyssa earned a Master of Science in Child Development from San Diego State University and holds a certification in Early Childhood Social Emotional Behavioral Regulation. Outside of her professional endeavors, she enjoys beach volleyball, hiking, yoga, and cooking.
