Here are a few of the latest milestones and achievements from graduates of the San Diego State University College of Education. To submit an item to appear in a future edition of Alumni Notes, please contact Michael Klitzing at [email protected].
- Rita Palet (2002, M.A., Educational Leadership; 2022, Ed.D., PreK-12 Educational Leadership) was named executive director of early education and services at the San Diego County Office of Education. Palet, who has 22 years of experience overseeing early education programs, previously served as a senior director in the Chula Vista Elementary School District.
- Jessica Robinson (2017, Ed.D., Community College Leadership) was named interim president of Cuyamaca College. She has served as the college’s vice president of student services since 2018. Robinson earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the SDSU School of Social Work and previously served as associate dean for student affairs in the College of Health and Human Services.
- Jennifer Ward (2002, M.A., Deaf Education) was named a recipient of the Fulbright Specialist Program award. Ward is a special education teacher with the San Diego County Office of Education, supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in East County. Her project, which aims to exchange knowledge and build collaboration, will take her to the University of Ioannina in Greece.
