Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.) Elementary and Secondary Education Online Application Process
Learn how to apply to the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.) Elementary and Secondary Education Online Program.
NOTE: You apply for fall 2022 even though the program starts in the summer.
This is a Master's program for those, in most cases, who already have a teaching credential. Credential licensure is NOT included in this program (i.e. you cannot earn a CA teaching license by completing this program).
Steps to Apply
1. Submit the Cal State Apply application

2. Request official transcripts from your Bachelor's degree and all credential coursework.
Request that your official transcripts be sent to SDSU, following instructions on our Submit Official Transcripts page.
3. Submit the Program Application
Please gather the required items below and have them ready to upload to the Program application:

We recommend uploading the document in PDF format.
Contact 1 individual who you have interacted with professionally and who would be able to write a letter of recommendation for you. Recommenders will submit their letters directly into the Online Program Application.
Please collect their name and email address so you are ready to request this letter in the Program application.
