We are excited to invite you to the 7th Annual RE:BORDER Binational Conference at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California's Mexicali campus on October 29, 2025. This year, we will showcase "Sustainable Communities," a theme that promises to spark transformative ideas and collaborations. (versión en español a continuación)
We seek proposals highlighting innovations across disciplines that demonstrate how you design solutions that improve education and address the social, environmental, and economic challenges we face as a region.

Voice Your Language (VYL) Annual Public Forums
Voice Your Language (VYL) is an annual public forum on multilingual education in California. VYL forums are led by students from the Department of Dual Language and English Learner Education with the guidance of faculty mentor, Dr. Sera J. Hernández, and supported with funding from DEBER, DLE, and Student Success Fee Academically Related Programs. The inaugural VYL forum was held in 2015 with the guidance of Dr. Cristina Alfaro.
- 2025 - 10th Annual VYL "Early Childhood and Multilingual Education". Featuring keynote speakers, Beatrice Zamora Aguilar & Dr. Iliana Alanis.
- 2024 - 9th Annual VYL "Ethnic Studies and Bilingual Teacher Education". Featuring keynote speakers, Dr. Guillermo Gómez & Dr. Cati de los Ríos.
- 2023 - 8th Annual VYL "Reclaiming Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics". Featuring keynote speakers, Dr. Cid, Dr. Vásquez, Dr. Kokka, & Dr. García.
