There are three routes to enter the Bilingual Added Authorization program.

Route 2: Apply Directly to the Program
If you are already enrolled at SDSU as a graduate candidate, you can apply directly to add the Bilingual Added Authorization and take the courses at the same time as your other classes. (If you are in an MA program, consult your graduate advisor as to whether any of the BAA courses can count as elective specialization courses within your program).
A. Submit the BAA Supplemental Program Application Form
For now, use our BAA supplemental program application in Google Forms to apply to add the program. (See more information on what you need for the program application below.)
Later, there may be a route to access the Bilingual Added Authorization program application from Slate.
Route 3: Apply Directly to the Program to Enroll through SDSU Global Campus
If you are not a current SDSU student and need a more flexible schedule for the BAA, you have a third option.
A. Submit the BAA Supplemental Program Application Form
Apply directly to the BAA program, using our BAA supplemental program application in Google Forms. (See more information on what you need for the program application below.)
This is a rolling application and may be submitted up to one month prior to the start of any SDSU semester. After that, your program application is rolled over to the subsequent semester.
B. Register and Enroll through SDSU Global Campus ("Open University")
Additional information is available at SDSU Global Campus Open University.
Note
For alternatives 1-2, you are admitted to San Diego State University through the regular application process. For alternative 3, no formal application to SDSU or acceptance procedure is necessary, just the program application. SDSU Global Campus is the division of the university open to the general public.
The Bilingual Authorization is issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The coursework and the bilingual authorization requirements are the same regardless of the way you register and pay for them, and there is no difference between bilingual authorizations earned by individuals registering through Global Campus and those earned by individuals registering as admitted SDSU students.
