San Diego State University has established its process to ensure that only qualified candidates are recommended for a credential.
At the conclusion of the 2-year program, all inductees will prepare an End of Program Learning Portfolio that will include the following:
- Individual Induction Plan (IIP) reflection that highlights:
- Pre, Mid, and Post CPSEL Self-Assessment & written reflections.
- Pre, Mid, and Post Equity Index Self-Assessment & written reflections.
- Key learnings from the related experiences to describe the impact of their leadership.
- Relationship of key learning to all six of the CPSELs with a minimum of one artifact for each of the CPSELs that represents substantive learning/growth and leadership
- Mentoring log for each of the four semesters documenting activities completed.
- Monthly Reflective Dialogue Interactive Journal addressing all program components.
- End of the program coach’s evaluation of the inductee’s performance and learning based on the CPSELs, that will be placed into his/her file.
All documents are required for certification and must demonstrate proficiency in at least one subsection of each of the six CPSELs as evidenced by goals accomplished in their IIP and preparation of a professional portfolio.
Once the inductee has successfully completed his/her culminating exhibition and satisfied the IIP requirements grounded n CPSELs competency indicators, the SDSU Clear Induction Program Coordinator and Educational Leadership (EDL) Chair will formally certify the inductee’s ability to successfully lead, manage, and improve educational organizations.
